A Trap For Young Players Regarding WordPress & Domain Names

As the tech team are flat out at the moment working on that strange dark magic that they do, I thought I’d help them out and move the woodnut.org domain from our GoDaddy account to WordPress so that this blog would work better.

Now the process was easy enough, but there was no warning about the fact that if I moved it then all the woodnut.org addresses would stop receiving mail. I dug around a bit and found that the MX records go with the domain transfer and yes, I should have known about that. A little knowledge is a dangerous thing of course (best I stick to spreadsheets I think!).

Anyway it’s given us the opportunity to change our email addresses to our .com domain which we’ve been wanting to do for a while – so from today our addresses will be firstname@woodnutmedia.com – and my apologies for any email inconveniences yesterday.
